Waoh! Rob Troy: The 10 Best Game Trailers of All Time
If you don't know who that man is... well you should.
This year, for the first time, Clio Key Art has put together a Games jury to award the best in gaming marketing and communications. Inspired by the evolution of the gaming advertising over the past few years, we asked Rob Troy, the chief creative officer of Ant Farm and a member of our Games jury, to name the best game trailers of all time. From Madden and Mass Effect to Modern Warfare and Assassin’s Creed, these trailers showcase the game trailer as an art form.

Game trailers are tricky things. Their job is to sell the idea of what it’s actually like to play a game—passive media for an immersive media product. It’s a tough job, but the trailers below, taking varied approaches, achieve just that. Some use CG, others live action. Still others approach the task by crafting the entire story using material from the game itself. These trailers encompass nearly a decade of groundbreaking game media, and often feel indistinguishable from (or even overshadow) their theatrical or television counterparts
Dead Island
Gripping from its opening moments, this take on the zombie genre is brilliant in its unorthodox execution. Long before Walking Dead came to our televisions, this trailer presented a take on the genre that felt both fresh and real..
Here we go again...
Feeling deeply humbled, The Escapist included Dead Island in their Gallery of the Day as one of their top 8 Amazing Video Game Trailers.
What a crowd
Had some of my work shown in front of 1000+ people within a cinema. Will post some of the results on the site soon...

Open Your Eyes
A mini side-project.
Samsara (2011) has no classic narrative, it somewhat relies on the viewer's connection to the images presented. I tried to recreate a trailer about what the movie meant for me.
Some color correction was required since many scenes were taken out of context. Custom audio, score and quote. No ties to the movie.
Enjoy and please check out "Samsara" and prior Ron Fricke movies.
cheers
